Privacy Policy
Last updated September 13, 2026.
Overview
CREdocket ("CREdocket," "we," "us") publishes litigation intelligence content, tools, and a subscription service for the commercial real estate industry at credocket.com. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors, account holders, and contacts, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.
This version replaces our prior privacy policy in full — it was rewritten to accurately describe the site as it operates today, including the account system, paid tools, and third-party services added since the last version.
Information We Collect
Contact form. If you use the form on our Contact page, the fields you fill in (name, email address, organization, role, and message) are sent directly to us via your own email client — this information is not transmitted to or stored on a CREdocket server or database.
Newsletter. The newsletter sign-up shown on this site is a form embedded from Beehiiv, our third-party email newsletter platform. When you submit your email address there, it goes directly to Beehiiv, not to a CREdocket server — Beehiiv's own privacy policy governs how they handle it. We use the emails Beehiiv collects to send our newsletter and can see aggregate delivery/open statistics, but we do not separately store your newsletter email address ourselves.
Account information. Creating a free CREdocket account requires an email address and password, handled by our backend provider, Supabase. Your session is kept signed-in using your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so you don't have to sign in again on return visits. Depending on which features you use, your account may also be associated with:
- Which free tracked matters you've read, so we can enforce the free-tier monthly reading limit.
- Watchlists you create (companies, states, or practice areas you've chosen to track).
- Your digest email frequency preference (daily, weekly, both, or none).
- A record that you accepted the separate Litigation Tools Terms (including its binding arbitration and class-action-waiver provisions) before using a given AI tool, and which version of those terms you accepted.
- Purchase and subscription records for paid tools (see Payments, below).
Case Value Calculator & Lease Clause Redline Checker (AI-assisted tools). These tools accept a typed description of your matter and/or an uploaded or pasted document, and evaluate it through our own proprietary system — including our curated database of real case citations and settlement outcomes and our state-by-state legal rules — which is powered in part by Claude, Anthropic's AI model, accessed through Anthropic's API. As part of generating your analysis, the relevant portion of your submission is processed by that model, subject to Anthropic's own privacy policy and its commercial API data-handling terms. CREdocket itself does not store the text of your description or uploaded document once your result is returned to you — we only log which category of matter and which tool you used, and which credit or subscription allotment it was billed against, so we can enforce usage limits and diagnose problems.
A caution on confidentiality: because this content is sent to a third-party AI provider, do not submit anything subject to a protective order, a sealed record, attorney-client privilege you don't hold personally, or a confidentiality obligation to another party, unless you're authorized to disclose it on those terms.
Contribute a Settlement. If you submit a matter through Contribute a Settlement, we store the extracted text of the petition/complaint and settlement agreement (or judgment) you provide, the structured facts you or our extraction process enter (category, property type, jurisdiction, claimed and settled amounts, and similar), and your attestation that the material isn't confidential. A human reviewer checks each submission — including running it past an automated scan for confidentiality-clause language — before approving it. The case caption and court/docket number you provide are kept private and are never shown publicly; only anonymized, aggregated figures (and, once at least three approved submissions exist for a given category and state, a benchmark range) are ever displayed to other users.
Payments. One-time credit packs and Practitioner/Firm subscriptions are purchased through Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe collects and processes that directly. We do receive and store the resulting transaction/subscription record (email used at checkout, plan type, credit amount or billing period, and subscription status) so we can grant and track access to paid tools.
Automatic data. We use Vercel Analytics, a cookieless, aggregate web-analytics service, to see overall traffic patterns (e.g., which pages are visited, in aggregate) — it does not use cookies and is not designed to identify you individually. We do not use advertising trackers or ad pixels. Standard web server logs (such as IP address and browser type) may also be recorded by our hosting provider for security and reliability purposes.
Third-Party Services
Beyond what's described above, this site relies on: Supabase (hosts our database and handles account sign-in); Resend (delivers account-related and digest emails); Google Fonts (loading a page may send your browser's IP address and user-agent to Google's servers as part of loading our typefaces); and Pexels (source of our photography, which is hosted directly on our own site — no separate request is made to Pexels when you view a page).
How We Use Information
We use the information described above to operate the site and its paid tools, respond to inquiries, evaluate potential legal matters you raise with us, send the newsletter and digest emails you've opted into, process payments, and enforce usage limits and our Terms of Service. We do not sell or rent your information to third parties.
Data Retention & Security
We retain account, usage, purchase, and contribution information for as long as your account is active, or as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, or as required by law or professional-responsibility record-keeping obligations. Contact and Beehiiv newsletter information is retained per the terms described above. We take reasonable measures to protect information in our possession, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your Choices
You may unsubscribe from the newsletter or any digest email at any time using the link in each email, or by changing your digest preference on your Account page. You may cancel a subscription at any time; canceling stops future billing but doesn't retroactively delete past transaction records.
Not Legal Advice; No Attorney-Client Relationship
Nothing on this site, and no information you submit through it — including through the Case Value Calculator, the Lease Clause Redline Checker, or Contribute a Settlement — creates an attorney-client relationship. See our Terms of Service and, for the AI-assisted tools specifically, our Litigation Tools Terms for details.
Children's Privacy
CREdocket is a business-to-business service intended for commercial real estate professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
